15. September 2022

Exciting news today from the Icelandic Competition Authority which has published its decision to allow the sale of Icelandic telecommunication network company Míla to French private equity company Ardian. (See here in Icelandic).

We are confident that this will lead to increased competition and advancement in the industry going forward, while also supporting potential future international investment in Iceland.

It was a rewarding learning process for us here at Takanawa to serve as Advisors to Ardian through the transaction which we did together with an outstanding group of individuals and advisors like Stakkur Advisory, Mr. David Stefansson independent advisor, Rothschild & Co, LEX, and others.

This is one of the biggest international investments in Iceland in recent years, about $500 million. Ardian is a strong and international player that will strengthen the Icelandic telecom market. Exciting times ahead!
